How not to kill your flowers 🌸🌻🌼

Here’s Holly trying to claim Influencer status 😆 whilst arranging her Mum’s Mother’s Day Flowers 🌸

- Admire it in its gorgeous packaging for a few hours
- Find a lovely vase and make sure it’s CLEAN! Clean with bleach to get rid of all nasty bacteria that could cause your flowers to deteriorate faster
- Rinse all the bleach out & fill with clean water
- Insert flower food to prolong vase life
- Remove all packaging (preferably over a sink so the aqua pack doesn’t flood the house)
- Keep bouquet tied!!
- Using really sharp & clean scissors ( eventually managed to find some snips from 100 years ago in my parents kitchen drawer) cut the stems to fit the vase properly
- If the vase has a narrow middle (like this one) cut the string so that the flowers sit nicely in the vase

Change water every few days and as soon as you notice a flower die, remove it so it doesn’t kill off the others sooner.

Now wishing I wasn’t in gym clothes with chipped nail varnish & tidied the dining table but who really cares!? I am yet to meet an immaculately presented florist 😂

If you need to deliver flowers for any reason, we deliver within a 12 mile radius and charge a flat rate of £3.95!!

We are closed this weekend, still taking orders for this Friday 21st March - after this date the next available delivery date is Tuesday 25th March 🌸

Valentines is always a funny one & we know some florists no longer participate, and we get it!!

The flowers are expensive!! And it's not just red roses - the majority of the flowers we use rise by about 20% or more in price per stem - the margins are tiny.
But we feel it's part of the job, we've always worked Valentines and most of our orders lead to new loyal customers, recommendations etc etc.

January Round-up ✨️

On one occassion we drove 3.5 hours to discover one installation had already been removed 😂😩 not our finest hour!!

The rest of the month has been a Christmas clean up operation involving lots of jumping in the bin (admittedly we both don't squash it down much so could do with a bigger recruit 😂) also LOADS of new enquiries, lots of calls, some updating of the website, site show arounds and wedding fayres! We've also sadly had a couple of funerals to flower for, which we are very honoured to be asked to do 🤍

We've nick named them all Martha May as they all look the same to us, and we would welcome them in with open arms but honestly they cause absolute carnage 😂 & eat any elastic band they can get their beaks on. It's time for a chicken ban for the sake of the chickens digestive system 🐓🐔

I've been a florist a bit longer than Mares, I attended college in 2009 😱 there's a whole back story but in all honesty it's boring 😂.
Simply cannot function without a coffee (sad but true) also cannot work without a really good tune on in the background - I love a good song to get me in work mode! I love early mornings. Catching a sunrise brings me joy 🌄
I don't think before I speak, but sometimes I think too much, so say nothing 😂. I have 2 beautiful boys, Jimmy & and Sidney, who I absolutely adore! My favourite flower is a Dahlia because of the vast amount of beautiful varieties & September is my favourite season for flowers. My favourite part of my job is making people happy! Receiving the amazing feedback we do from our customers makes all the hard work worth it.

Mary-Jane has been a florist for ten years, having always been nature obsessed. Boring bits aside, she is a theatre lover, she also lives on a boat and is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community (L) 😂 (we want more gay weddings please??? Where are the gays???). Her fave flower is a delphinium because they are so pretty and they are generally taller than she (or Holly) will ever be. Mares is in charge of the flower growing side of the bizz and loves it. She is obsessed with her cat too and pretty much all animals including the chickens that roam around our farm.

We're not just florists ✨️😍🌸

It's not an easy job - but we love the diverse range of British flowers we have access to by growing our own flowers. And we couldn't do it without our Zeb - who researches every seed within an inch of its life - and goes into melt down when the weather changes 😂

We would never knock imported flowers as, in our opinion; they're essential for any florist to trade all year round!! But having our own flower patch does give our flowers that something special - well, we think so anyway 😍

We're not just florists ✨️😍🌸

It's not an easy job - but we love the diverse range of British flowers we have access to by growing our own flowers. And we couldn't do it without our Zeb - who researches every seed within an inch of its life - and goes into melt down when the weather changes 😂

We would never knock imported flowers as, in our opinion; they're essential for any florist to trade all year round!! But having our own flower patch does give our flowers that something special - well, we think so anyway 😍
